Our Fun Weekend at the Park

This weekend we had absolutely beautiful weather! Whenever the weather permits, Jack and I love to spend as much time as we can outdoors. On Friday afternoon, Granny and I took Jack to Lawn Manor park. Although we have gone on several walks by the park before, this was Jack's very first time on the swing and going down the slide. He was really cute....a little unsure at first, but after a while, he was laughing on the swing. Funny how he loves the swing at the park, but still hates his swing at home...go figure! He also liked the slide, but only when he was sitting on my lap. He got very scared when I tried to let him go down alone just holding his hand. I was a little premature for attempting to let him slide down without me...he is only 7 months!

Anyhow, we had a great weekend although we missed Daddy very much because he was in Kansas City for Emily's First Communion. We were sad to miss it. Because the weather was so beautiful, it reminded us that summer is right around the corner! Yeah! We are excited Jack is with us this summer. It will be so much fun with our Little Man around.....never a dull moment!

Here are some pictures and video clips from our very first park adventure. Enjoy!

A Giggle So Adorable It Makes Your Heart Melt

7 Months Today!

Today our little (ok, not so little anymore!) bundle of joy is 7 months old! What a month it has been! I didn't want to jinx things by saying this in an earlier post, but I think I can FINALLY say with confidence that Jack is sleeping through the night!!!! What is sleeping through the night you may ask??!? Well, about 9:00PM until about 5:30AM. Yes, I acknowledge that is still an early wake up time, but we have made major progress here! Plus, after I feed him at 5:30AM, he will go down for another 1.5- 2 hours! So, we are lightyears ahead of where we were only 3 weeks ago! The little man is coming along! I am so proud of him...and for Jay and I for staying strong throughout the "sleep training" process.

Another major milestone Jack hit this month was being able to sit up completely on his own. He has graduated from "tripod" position (sitting while his hands were in between his legs to support him) to sitting up completely all on his own. Yesterday at Mommy and Me Fitness class, he sat up on his own for a full 45 minutes while playing with his toys and other babies....he was so cute!

It has been another great month. We are just so lucky to have such a beautiful baby boy. We love him so much.

The Easter Bunny Came!

The verdict is in....apparently Jack was good enough for the past 7 months to warrant a visit from the Easter Bunny! Not only did the Bunny make a visit, I think he was trying to one up Santa Claus because he brought so many gifts with him! The Little Man received lots of goodies in his overflowing basket. Granny and Grandpa gave him a toy that is going to help him walk, a swim suit, jean overalls, and an alligator overall clothes set. Grandma and Grandpa Heidemann gave him a Cardinals outfit for his Build A Bear. So now, Jack and the Bear can match! And his Godmother/Aunt Julie gave him a cute little plaid hat with a matching blue Polo tee! Jack is like his dad and loves Polo!

We had a nice and relaxing Easter at Granny and Grandpa's. It was so nice to just spend time with our Little Man on his very first Easter. Jay and I went to Orlando, FL for 4 days beforehand and we missed JB SO MUCH! I could not get enough of him when we got home!

Here are some pics from Easter! We hope everyone had a little visit from the Bunny!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Ok seriously....snow again?? I mean, I love snow, but by April, I think everyone is ready for it to be over. We just came home from dinner at Granny and Grandpa's house (our typical Sunday routine!) and when we left it was snowing the size of quarters! Ahhh, spring in Chicago....70 degrees one day and gigantic snowflakes the next!

We had a nice low key weekend...just the way we like it! I am still slightly hungover from last weekend (HA!) and I told Jay I am never going out again...ok, well maybe not never, but not for a long while anyway. All I wanted to do this entire weekend is stay home and play with Jack. And other than going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond yesterday and church this morning, that is exactly what we did. I love playing with my little man. He is really a ton of fun! Now that he can sit (almost anyway), it opens new doors in terms of all of the fun toys he loves t play with. He is just like a sponge adsorbing so much everyday. He just looks at everything you do or say and just processes everything. He is such a curious little guy.....we can't wait until he can talk b/c we know there is so much he wants to say.....

On anther note, Jack fell off our bed last Friday (and I still feel SO BAD!) Bad mom, I know. I was so SCARED when I heard the thump....my heart dropped. Grandpa Harris and I took Jack to see Great Uncle/Dr. George just to make sure everything was ok....and thank God, it is. I am sure this is the first of many falls, cuts, and/or bruises, but to this day I am just so thankful that he was not seriously hurt. I would have never forgiven myself if it were. The one positive thing out of this experience is that I will definitely not make the mistake of leaving him out of my sight again. Also, if he is going to fall, at least it was onto carpeting and not the hardwood floors.

Here are some recent pics of my guy....
