Bye-Bye!!!!

I am so proud of my Little Man tonight because for the very first time he waved "Bye-Bye" when leaving Granny and Grandpa's house after dinner! After months of practicing waving and saying "bye-bye," it has finally paid off! It just came out of nowhere...and silly me, I thought he was ignoring me all this time! It was so cute! Waving "bye-bye" for the first time is just another reminder that Jack is such a little sponge, absorbing and learning so many new things everyday. I say this all of the time, but I am just blessed to be able to watch him grow...and so quickly, at that!

I do not have pictures of him waving "bye-bye" yet (stay tuned!), but I do have some post pictures of our FIRST EVER Heidemann family photo shoot. I captured a few photos of Jack at Granny and Grandpa's house before he just crashed for his nap...apparently too many pictures for one day. Once I receive the cd's of the family pictures, I will definitely post some of them. But for now, here are just a few post shots of the Little Man hanging out in his family photo shoot attire.....

Busy Saturday

Today was a very busy Saturday! I started off the day by running a 5K run at St. Xaivier's University. It is hard to believe that 7 years ago this exact weekend I ran the Chicago marathon! I went from 26.2 miles to 3.2 miles! And it is pathetic to admit that I was almost just as fatigued after my 5K this morning as I was after the marathon....jeez, a lot can change in a short amount of time...especially from being really IN shape to getting really OUT of shape. But, I have good excuses from falling off the "health" bandwagon, right!!?! Immediately after I completed the marathon 7 years ago, I started and completed my MBA, got married, and then had a baby. And all 3 of those things happened back to back. That is my excuse....and I think it is a good one....so, I am going with it! I was very happy to complete my 5K this morning....and I should also mention that I did beat my dad! We ran together the entire race, but I like to beat him during the last 200 yards just so I can say I did--HA! The best part about the entire race was that I had my husband and sweet baby boy there to cheer me on! Nothing in life is better than my 2 favorite boys!!!!!

After the race was completed, we went downtown to Anna Whelan's 1st birthday party. We had a nice time seeing some friends and Jack had fun playing with some of Anna's toys and hanging out with other little people. Here are some pictures from the party....

Having Fun With My New Birthday Toys

It was kind of a rainy day today so Jack and I had a lot of time inside together. Fortunately, our day started off with a new class that we are taking this fall and winter called "Baby Business" at the Oak Lawn Library. We had fun reading, singing, and even playing with stickers. Jack then began to eat the stickers...so, they had to be taken away after a few minutes:(

When we came home from class, we had more fun playtime with Mommy and Aunt Katie who joined us for Jack's first Baby Business class.

The Little Man has been having so much fun with all of his toys that he received from his birthday. Here are some pictures of him playing with some of his new toys! He is such a lucky little guy!

"Oh Yeah!! I got a basket! I am so proud of myself!"

"Yeah again! Swish! I just scored again! Lookout Michael Jordan!"

Dragging the baseball bat ALL OVER the house!!!

Dr./Great Uncle George Says That In Only 12 Short Months.....

Jack has gone from:

6 lbs., 15 oz. to 22 lbs., 8 oz. (50th percentile)!

20 inches to 29.5 inches (50th percentile)!

(I forget his birth head size at the moment!) to 48 centimeters (75th percentile)!

And Most Importantly, his thighs have gone from this......

To This.......
HAHAHA! The thigh pictures are especially for Aunts Julie and Katie since they are obsessed with Jack's thighs!

In addition to Jack's one year Dr. appointment today, he also stood without assistance! I was so proud of him, I literally started to cry! The ONLY person that was more proud of him than I was the Little Man himself!!!

The VERY Happy Birthday Boy!

I know I already posted pictures from Jack's first Birthday party, but I spent too many hours on a plane a couple of days ago editing them since when I originally downloaded the pictures they had a blueish tint. This was bothering me so I tried to see if I could get the lighting better. They are still not perfect, but while attempting to fix the "blue tint" problem, I also cropped them and zoomed in on the Little man's face. He was just SO HAPPY while was opening his presents and Aunt Katie (the designated photographer during the party) captured some simply adorable faces. I know some of these pictures are redundant, but I had a very difficult time choosing the cutest ones and figured you just cannot get enough of a laughing and smiling baby!!!!

I love his faces on these....so funny! He LOVES his aunts!!!
