It's Up! It's up!!!!

For so long now, I have been very anxious to get a swing set up in our backyard ok, well maybe a little crazy about it:) After all, shouldn't every little boy have a fun backyard where he likes to play....and play....and play some more! Well after this past weekend, I am thrilled to announce that my Little Man has a swing set of his very own as well as many other toys that are beginning to make our back yard a haven for very active toddler boys!!!!

This swing set would not have been a reality if it were not for some people that I need to thank. First off, thank you to all of my photography customers that have supported me since I started my business about 6 months ago. It is because of you that we were able to save up for this. Secondly, thank you to Grandpa Harris for making endless phone calls to trips to visit his "friends" in the building materials industry to make sure we got a good price and deal. And last, but certainly NOT least, thank you to Jay and Grandpa Heidemann for spending almost 12 hours assembling the swing set. You did a great job and we are SO VERY APPRECIATIVE!!!!

We had a great time visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Heidemann this weekend. In addition to his swing set, Jack really appreciated the time spent with them. He learned a new game with Grandma Heidemann called "Follow The Leader." Basically, Grandma would just follow him around the yard allowing Jack to be the leader....and because he is such a ham, he loved this game! He kept looking over his should every now and then to make sure Grandma was still following him and once he was assured she was, he kept going and going....and going:) Anyhow, thank you for all of your help. I know I always say this, but the next time you visit, we won't put you to work!!!!

Here are some pictures from the "labor intensive" day of the long awaited swing set assembly. The little laughs from Jack on the swing for the very first at 10:00PM when it was finally finished made it all worthwhile! Lots of pics of Jack playing on the swingset in future posts!!!

Here are also some pics from our our lunch at Snackville Junction with Grandma Heidemann! My Little Man just can't get enough of the choo choo's!!!!!

Do We Have a Future Soccer Star On Our Hands?!?!

Today was one of those beautiful days....not hot, not cold, just perfect! Jack and I had a great time spending lots of time outdoors. Being outside is pretty much all Jack wants to do lately and we certainly covered the entire gambit of activities. We went for a walk in his car, we played with his new found favorite game that Mommy made up called "throw the stick," and we certainly played with balls of all sizes!!!

Today Jack had a certain inclination for his soccer ball. Was it because I dressed him in a "I Love Soccer" shirt!?!?! HA! I guess we won't know for sure, but the one thing that was for sure was that Jack simply had a "ball" outside today!!!! After today, I foresee a future soccer player on our hands. That's ok with me though.....I always thought I would be a soccer mom sooner or later.....HA!

SERIOUSLY

ok, seriously. I mean, can we catch a break here?!?!?! Today, I lost my job....for the second time in the past 2 years. Last week, Jay JUST started a new job after loosing his 12 weeks ago. So yes, that means we were back on track and both employed again for about 2 whole seconds before this happened. Lovely. Here we go again....

Anyhow, when my mom called today and I told her something was wrong, she immediately asked, "Is Jack ok?" I replied "yes." She then said, "Is Jay ok?" I again replied "yes." She then said, "Well, that is all that is important and everything is going to be fine then." And as difficult as this is for me to believe on a day like today, I know she is right.

After all, I can never get too down on my life when I have someone so amazing in it. This sweet little baby can bring sunshine to any day, even today.

20 Months Today!

Happy 20 month B-day to my sweet Little Man! I am fairly certain I posted this picture in a past post, but it is simply my favorite from this past month...so, I am posting it again. Basically, this face sums Jack up completely. He is just the happiest little guy with the world's most darling little laugh! I just can't get enough!

Although he is still 4 months away from being 2, he definitely has begun his infamous "terrible twos." Let the fun begin! That's ok.....look at this face. As I said, I just can't get enough!!!!

The Sweetest Thing

For those of you that have little kids, I do not need to tell you that kisses from a baby are just about the sweetest thing in the entire world. I seriously do not think there is much more to life these days that slobbery little smooches from my little man!

Jack is quite the "kissing machine" lately (but only when he is on the mood, of course!) Needless to say, this little guy rules the roost around our house....and our days often revolve around his moods! I guess I would not have it any other way:) Lately, the mood has really struck him! Sometimes I have to beg him for a kiss (and he may or may not give into my request for his affection!) and other times I just look at him and he is all puckered, ready and willing to give kisses to anyone who will accept them.

Here is a picture of Jack kissing his baby cousin, Adeline. I guess I am not the only person who gets all giddy inside when he gives sweet, little kisses!

Haircut

Grandpa Harris and Daddy took this little guy for a haircut from Mike the Barber this evening. For those that have witnessed Jack getting a haircut before, you know that this is simply NOT a pleasant experience to watch. For some reason, Jack is just not yet at the point in his life where he enjoys getting his haircut. The poor little guy just sits in the barber chair and just sobs and sobs. It is just heartbreaking for a Mommy to watch. So today, I decided to send "the men" to take him. They seemed to think that their presence during his haircut would toughen Jack up a bit. Unfortunately, they too had to witness a very unhappy young man:(

But, the good news is that Jack immediately forgets about his devastating haircuts the second Mike finishes him up. Fortunately for me this time, he was as happy as a clam by the time he arrived back home! And, the end result of his haircut......well, simply darling as always! Jay and I always wonder how Mike is able to give him such a cute cut while he is sobbing the entire time!!!

Here are some pictures of the Little Guy sporting his new haircut!!!!

The Best Mother's Day Present EVER!

Today is "Mother's Day Eve" and in preparation for the big day, I would like to wish all the "Momma's and/or Momma's To Be" out there a very, very special Mother's Day. I have had the most greatest experience in the entire world the past year and half of my life....and that is being a mom. It is hands down ABSOLUTELY the greatest thing in the entire world.

I am expecting no gifts tomorrow....after all, Mother's Day is just a day. It is every day that I get the best Mother's Day present on the face of the earth.....my sweet little Jack. Life just does not get better than him.....I am certainly one blessed Momma!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommy's....we especially want to give a special shout out to Granny Harris and Grandma Heidemann! We love you so much!
