Zoo Mania!!

Today, Jack and I went to the Lincoln Park Zoo with Granny and Aunt Leah! This little guy is surely one lucky kid--we went to Brookfield Zoo a couple of week ago and then today we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo! We seem to be going through a zoo mania lately doing a tour of the Chicagoland zoos! It sure is nice being a stay-at-home mom sometimes!!! I am just trying to enjoy all of this extra time with my little guy while it lasts!

We seem to have had some impeccable timing with the weather last week and again this week. Last Friday, my mom and I decided to have a garage sale on the hottest day of the year thus far (93 sweltering degrees!!!!.) I think that was the hottest day of the year up until TODAY, that is! I am not sure where the thermometer topped off, but it certainly felt like 100 degrees in that sun!! That is ok tho.....we still managed to have a nice time and see many gorgeous animals. Jack's favorite animals today were the giraffes. They were simply gorgeous and he had a great view since they are so large and easy to spot from his stroller view! He also saw many "gucks" again. Well, they were actually penguins, ostriches, eagles, etc., but to him, any bird-like animal was a "guck." HA! For the first time ever, he saw some pretty neat gorillas and swinging monkeys too. He also went on yet another "choo choo" ride and had fries and pink lemonade for lunch! Life simply does not get better for a 21 month old baby!!!!

Here are some shots from our fun day at the Lincoln Park Zoo!

Happy Father's Day/Happy 26th Birthday/CONGRATS!!!

WOW, what an exciting day!!!!! Never did I expect to wake up this morning and have such an eventful day!!!!

First off, Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers and grandfathers out there! You are such wonderful examples for us and your unconditional love is so greatly appreciated......not only today, but every day. Jack would like to give a special shout out to his "Dada." Jack and Dada are simply best friends. He really love each other so much.....and watching the two of them play together is Momma's favorite thing to do! We love you Dada, Papa, and Grandpa!

Secondly, Happy 26th Birthday to Aunt Katie!!!! We hope you had a wonderful day today! And we know you did:)......which leads me to the final exciting thing for the day........

Congrats to Aunt Katie and Uncle Ragu on your engagement!!!!!!! We are just SO HAPPY for you!!! Although Uncle Ragu has been Jack's "uncle" for a while, we are just thrilled that he is finally going to be an official uncle!!!!! Woohoo! We could not be happier and are really excited for all of the wedding planning! The little ring bearer has lots of work to do before the big day, but don't worry, we'll start practicing soon so he is all ready to strut his stuff in a cute little tux come the fall of 2011!!!! Congrats again to my baby sis!! I truly could not be happier for you!

Phew, too much excitement for one day!! If only every day was this special!!! Here are some shots from our very HAPPY day today......

Happy 21 Month B-Day To My Little Man!!!!

Happy 21 Month Birthday to my sweet baby boy!!!! 21 months already.....wow. Wasn't he born yesterday?!?! Sometimes it feels like that and other times, he acts like a 4 year old. No matter what his age, I just can't get enough of my cutie patutie and his very sassy attitude! I can't get enough of him screaming "mom" all of the time or telling "Falph" to "sit." Or pointing at Adeline saying "Baby" and trying to shove his pacifier in her mouth. Or most recently him just breaking out of the house, going outside and just sitting in his car making the car sound "rrrrr" until someone goes out there and takes him for a ride. I can go on and on and on.......

Sure, I am one proud mama. No doubt. Every day is a blessing with my Little Guy. I love him to pieces.

Here are some edited pics from the carnival last Sunday and some other ones that I took in front of Granny and Grandpa's house. Such a little man we have on our hands.....

It's BAAAAAAACK!!!!

After 365 days of much anticipation, the St. Catherine's carnival made its way back onto our calendars this past week! I love the carnival for many reasons. 1) There is absolutely nothing like spending time with family and friends in a fun, family friendly atmosphere, 2) it is always fun for me to see old St. Catherine classmates who I literally have not seen in YEARS, 3) I do not have to cook dinner for 5 consecutive days, 4) the look on Jack's face while going on rides for the first time--simply PRICELESS!!!, 5) rainbow cones, 6) elephant ears, 7) #5 again!!!!

Anyhow, as you can tell from the photos, we had a wonderful time at the carnival this year. The weather was so nice we made our way up there every day. The Little Man never seizes to surprise me. I was simply a basket case putting him on the rides b/c I thought he was still too young and would get scared. Well, I could not have been more wrong!!!! He absolutely LOVED the rides and simply could not get enough!!!! As a matter of fact, we gave the carnival worker enough tickets for Jack to ride the cars 4 times in a row on one of the nights. He was having so much.....and I could not resist the look on his face. There is nothing in the world better for a mother than to see her child so happy!!!! So needless to say, he has been spoiled rotten this past week. ok, maybe that is not all that different than any other week--HA! I was telling my mom that I sent the benchmark WAY too high for myself last week--the pool, the zoo, AND the carnival for 5 days straight!!! What ever am I going to do this week? Geez, I hope my Little Man does not get let down!!!! I have my work cut out for me to maintain status quo in the fun department going forward this summer! HA!
