Today Jack and I went to the zoo with Julie, Maddie, and Joey Star. Last year, Julie and I brought Maddie and Jack for their very first visit, but this year was even better since they were actually old enough to see and even interact with the animals! Jack had a lot of fun, especially in the Children's Petting Zoo. I was kind of surprised, but he would not leave my side near the goats. He was absolutely fine when looking at hem from afar, but he really wanted nothing to do with petting or feeding them this year. So, we just watched and moved onto all of the other areas. Jack thought the "gucks" were very cool. He also enjoyed watching the bison, camels, and warthogs....certainly not the most popular animals in the zoo, but to him, they were pretty neat-o! Maybe next year he will be more interested in the more popular animals like the bears and dolphins:)
We are lucky to have such good friends like the Stars. I hope to continue our annual trip to the zoo so Jack can have lots of fun summertime memories. Seems like every year, there is a new baby in tow:)
