Labor Day Weekend/ Visit From Grandma and Grampa Heidemann/ "Bye-Bye Poo"

This past weekend, we had a nice and relaxing Labor Day weekend at home. It was honestly so nice to be at home for a three day weekend. I feel like the last few "3-days," we have always been on the road. We all know that EVERY weekend goes by too quickly...so, having that extra day was really nice. The only thing that would have made it a little bit better is if Jack and I felt better. We have both been fighting a cold all week prior the holiday weekend and were still struggling a bit throughout the weekend. Colds are the worst, but summer colds are especially annoying! Oh well, we certainly did not let colds ruin our weekend!

Labor Day weekend was especially nice this year because Grandma and Grandpa Heidemann were in town for a work trip and then stayed a few days to visit. It was so nice seeing them. Unfortunately, they are unable to make it to Jack's 2nd Birthday party next weekend, but they did a wonderful job creating an exciting afternoon for him to make him feel special. On Saturday, we had lunch at Snackville Junction. As always, Jack just loves the fact that a choo choo brings him his grilled cheese, chocolate milk, and fries. After all, choo choos are so much cooler than a waitress in the eyes of an almost 2 year old! After Snackville Junction, Jack took a little snooze and when he awoke, he enjoyed a "clown cone" and his new battery operated Kawasaki 4 wheeler that Grandma and Grandpa gave him for his birthday! He is still getting used to it, but we know many fun times are ahead with his new "car."

Thank you so much Grandma and "Papa" Heidemann for making Jack feel so special! We are certainly going to miss you at his party next weekend, but we had such a fun afternoon on Sat. Thank you also to Papa Heidemann for helping Daddy to add stairs and the accessories onto his swing set. The stairs are an absolute lifesaver for his Mommy who has been having a difficult time lifting him up to the slide 20 times a day:) We can't wait to see you again soon!

This weekend, Jack also affectionately waved "bye bye to the poo" (that would be pool, for those of you that do not understand "Jack language"). Our last day was on Labor Day until next Memorial Day! Lawn Aqua, you will certainly be missed, but fortunately, the weather started to welcome beautiful fall-like air the week that you closed. So hopefully, no more insanely hot days left in 2010! Now, we just have to find something else to do to get out of the house everyday:) Word on the street has it that part of Jack's birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Harris will allow us someplace fun to go whenever we wish as the weather gets a little cooler. I guess we will just have to wait and see what it is until Jack's party next weekend!
