8 Weeks Old Today!

My guy is 8 weeks old today! I have been trying to take as many photos of him in his "newborn knits" because I am afraid that they will not fit him much longer! I adore all of them and just do not want his "newborn" days to end.....as always, time is just moving WAY TOO quickly for this Momma....so, I am just trying to enjoy each and every minute.....

Adeline's "Jamas"

Jack has decided in the past couple of months that he much prefers to take "shows" (short for showers) at Granny and Papa's house rather than our house. While this is very annoying at times, I can't really argue with him because I think he just feels much more secure in their shower since they have little tiles on the bottom rather than our very slippery tub. I bought a non skid mat for him so he feels more comfortable taking a shower at our house, but he still does not like it and MUCH prefers Granny and Papa's shower. I really cannot blame him because they just remodeled their bathrooms (amongst other construction projects in their house!) and their shower has 6, yes 6 shower heads!! It is awesome!!! Plus, Granny usually gives Jack his showers which really helps me out during the week!!!

Anyhow, Granny gave Jack his shower today before I arrived with his pajamas. Since she was worried that he would get cold (btw, she is ALWAYS worried that he will get cold!), she put a pair of Adeline's pajamas on him. Jack looked absolutely ridiculous and very funny wearing Adeline's pink pajamas!!!!! I could not stop laughing!!! Jack loved the fact that I was laughing at him.....so, he decided that he did not want to take Adeline's pajamas off. You have to pick your battles with a 2 year old (especially since I decided to start potty training him next week!) So, Jack wore Adeline's pajamas all night. He was, however, forced by his Mommy to take them off immediately the next morning and wear his boy's clothes to school!

Here are just a few more of Michael's newborn photos that I wanted to share. Some of them are very similar to ones I already posted, however, I owe the credit to Aunt Nance for taking these. We took these shots of Mikey over Christmas while the whole family was at Grandma and Grandpa Heidemann's house. I will FOREVER cherish these beautiful photos of my precious little baby. 6 Weeks Old Already/My Favorites From Mikey's Newborn Shoots!!!

Here we go again.....time SERIOUSLY needs to slow down. I remember feeling like this when Jack was a newborn....and here I am again with Mikey. It is simply crazy how babies grow up SO DARN QUICKLY. I find it almost insane how you are with them every waking moment, yet they change so much, simply in a blink of an eye. Today, my sweet Mikey is 6 weeks old already....I can't even beleive it. He smiles. He coos. He really is doing a great job at holding up his head. My guy is getting big. I can't take it.

Anyhow, I am attaching some shots that I have edited from Michael's numerous newborn shoots that we have attempted. I have been so critical of my photography skills lately. I guess I have always been pretty critical and hard on myself at times, but I just REALLY want those perfect newborn photos. I have the perfect, most adorable little newborn, but I have not been thrilled with the shots I have taken of him thus far. However, I am not giving up on my mission for the perfect photos! We shall try, try again. Like I said, I have the perfect little model and I am so excited to capture as many moments as possible with my little guy! We have a whole lifetime ahead of us!

Happy Birthday "Ganny"

Tonight we went to Granny's house to have a very small celebration for her birthday. If it were up to her, it would not be acknowledged at all since she simply hates her birthday altogether. Her birthday just reminds her that she is getting old, but Aunt Julie, Aunt "Kick Kick" and I decided that we wanted to just do something little for her since she does so much for all of us ALL of the time. So, what is this "little" thing we did for her you may ask....well, we ordered reuben sandwiches and potato salad from Swanson's for dinner. Oh, and we also ordered a frosted pound cake from Tuzik's and cannolis from Naples. Yummy, yummy, YUMMY!!! For those of you that know my mom well enough know that she just loves her reubens and cannolis!!! So, it was a nice surprise and break from the norm of ordering pizzas every Friday night!

Here are some photos from tonight. I thought the ones of Jay holding his littlest man were pretty darn cute. He does not have the opportunity to hold him as much as he would like so I was happy to capture these candid shots. I wanted to get some shots of the birthday girl herself with the boys, particularly as she was blowing out her candles, but little Mikey was not a happy camper so I had to feed him. Why is it that babies hate the night time so much? Anyhow, I took one of him crying anyway because the little monkey sweater from Aunt Julie was just too cute and I am afraid he might not wear it again since it is so tiny. My little guy is already getting too big and growing up way too quickly.
