Happy St. Patrick's Day From My Wee Irish Lads!!!

Wow, what another amazing day today!!!! It is summer in March this year and there is not a better day for it than St. Patrick's Day!! We took the boys to Fox's for pizza and Irish music and although we were sitting a ways away from the Irish singer, we had a blast anyway!!! Oh, and Mr. Mikey was introduced to Irish Nachos from his Daddy today. Needless to say, he LOVED them....I am afraid there is no going back now....

June Like Weather In March

Well, did you hear that!?!? The weather men are calling for 80 degree weather in Orlando for the next 10 days!! Whoops, did I say Orlando??? I meant CHICAGO....yes, CHICAGO. 70-80 degree ALL WEEK IN MARCH!!! This is crazy, but hey we are not complaining at all. Rather, we are monopolizing on this record breaking weather!!! After all, it could just as easily be snowing on a day like today!!

We spent no time enjoying this wonderful day.....we decided to kick off this awesome weather week at one of our favorite spots.........the park, of course!! As you can tell from the expressions on their faces, my men were so happy enjoying this June like weather!!!

Easter Bunny Visit Bust

Today, we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny, but I may have jumped the gun a bit because he was not there yet!  Apparently, 3 weeks before Easter is too soon for him to make an appearance.  Who would have thought?!?!  Oh well, we will try again next Monday.

This trip was not a total bust though.  We decided to be mall rats for the evening.  Granny met us at the mall and bought us dinner and Mrs. Fields cookies afterwards!  Then, Jack decided he wanted to Bungee Jump.  So Granny immediately said yes since she never seems to be able to say no to him when he asks for anything.  Shall we say he is just a little spoiled...HA!  He was a little scared  once he got all hooked up to jump, but I was still so proud of him for trying!  He only jumped for about 30 seconds, but it was not a total waste of Granny's $7.  Mommy jumped really high for the remaining 2 minutes and 30 seconds....and Jack thought that was very, very cool!!!! When we left the mall, Jack asked if he could try again when he is 4.  I, of course, said "Sure Little Man."

We also stopped to get a quick studio picture of the boys while we were at the mall.  Mikey was an absolute bear.....not cooperating in the least bit.   That little stinker!  We did, however, walk away with one cute photo.  It was certainly not what I hoped for, but it did capture a moment of my two sweet little guys!!

South South Parade is Back!!!

After a two year hiatus to this long standing south side tradition, the south side Irish parade has made a comeback this year!!!  Basically, the city of Chicago cancelled it because people were having a little too much fun and the family atmosphere that it once was seemed to have diminished.  This once family friendly tradition converted to a drunk and disorderly fest that was attended by literally every Irish person in the city.  And if you know anything about St. Patrick's Day in Chicago, EVERYONE is Irish, if just for one day.  But, I am happy to report that the parade came back with a bang.  There was not a drunk or disorderly person in sight...not that they had a choice because security was so high. Nothing but families and a ton of kiddos.  It was perfect.   And honestly, it could not have been a better day for it.  It was SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL outside.  It was one of those days were I was not hot OR cold....and if you know me, that is rarely the case...HA!  The boys had a blast watching all of the local high school bands, horses, floats, etc.  It was a perfect day and I am so happy to instill this wonderful tradition to my boys.

Here are some photos of our great day spent with family and friends.  A special thanks goes out to the Harts' and Kaskies' for inviting us to your post parade Irish celebrations.  The food was delicious and the kiddos had a blast!!!
