Livin' the Good Life on the Chicago Shoreline

Our family was invited to the Hoeksema's boat this afternoon for a little boat ride on Chicago's finest beach.....Lake Michigan, of course.  It took us about 3 hours to try and explain to Jack that we were in fact boating on a great lake and not the ocean.  He was convinced we were on the ocean and was looking for crabs, sharks, and whales.  Gotta love the innocence of a 3 year old!!!

Anyhow, we had an absolute blast!!!  I was afraid Jack and/or Mikey were going to be scared since the boat that they are used to is on Lake Magician in MI....not to be confused with Lake Michigan in Chicago.  You would realize a big difference immediately since the water is far more choppy on Lake Michigan.  Anyhow, Jack had a blast and even got to sit up in the front with Capt. Don and Papa.  And Mikey, well he loved it so much that he took a late afternoon snooze while cruisin' on Granny's lap. Feeding the geese almost an entire bag of pretzels really wore him out!!! And to top the wonderful afternoon off, Jack got to sit on Aunt Katie and Uncle Billy's scooter!!! Man oh man, are both of these boys spoiled and livin' the good life or what?!?!  And they will be boatin' babes all over again for 8 days straight in another month on vacation!  We can't wait!!!!
