The Mayor Turns 4!!!!

Well, today is the day......the Mayor turns 4!!! How is it that my sweet boy is 4 years old already!?!?!? I just cannot believe it!!!!! I feel like he was born yesterday....but he is just so big now. I have to admit that while I hate the fact that he is growing up so darn quickly, I do enjoy each and EVERY moment watching him grow.  The boy amazes me....his memory, his charm, his brains, and his adorable face!  I am just so lucky and proud to be his momma!!!

I am just thrilled that the party went off without a hitch!!!!  The week leading up to this party was crazy so I especially want to thank Grandma and Grandpa Heidemann for helping me make some last minute salads and help Jay get the tables in order on the day of his party.  Thank also to Uncle Ben who helped babysit the boys on Friday night while I worked on Jack's cake so make it include all of his special cake requests.

We had a full baseball theme and it was fabulous!!!  All guests were asked to wear attire from their favorite baseball team.  The baseball fare was a hit too.  After all, who does not enjoy kettle popped popcorn, shelled peanuts, hot pretzels and nachos with cheese, HUGE Chicago style hot dogs, and salads galore?!?!  And the party would not be complete without the much anticipated baseball birthday cake.  Jack had discussed this with me for months leading up to the party so I was very excited to put his idea into action and make it special for him.  I had VERY explicit instructions on what kind of cake my little guys wanted.  Predictably, a nice and simple round baseball was not an option.  Jack had requested a cake that had a baseball, baseball players, bases, baseball gloves, dirt so that the players could run to the bases, grass, and a gate.  I incorporated all of his requests into this 9x13 inch cake with the exception of the gate.  Silly me.  On the bright side, he told me that he loved his cake!!!!  But on the flip side, nothing gets past my man!!!  He quickly reminded me that I forgot the gate.  Better luck next year, I suppose!!!!

Happy 4th birthday to the sweetest, spunkiest, and gosh darn cutest little 4 year old boy I know!!!  I love you to pieces, my man!!!
