Our Fun Day at the Milwaukee Children's Museum

This morning, I took Jack to the Milwaukee Children's Museum. He had an absolute blast!! Such a fun-loving little man I have on my hands! What was best of all is that we had an opportunity to hang out with some new friends, Becky and little Noah Tumpane. Noah and Jack were like 2 little peas in a pod! They are only 2 weeks apart and they were instant friends! They were really cute interacting with each other and I truly enjoyed watching Jack having so much fun! I sometimes forget what a little boy I have....he is certainly not a baby anymore! Noah and Jack were saying "PU!" when attempting to smell each other's feet and also dying laughing at each other when making car noises that was kind of like spitting. What is that saying again....."boys will be boys!?!?!" I never thought I would say this, but the feet smelling and spitting was actually very cute!

We are already looking forward to our next play date in a couple of weeks. Becky sent me a text message saying that Noah cried "Jack" the whole way home until he fell asleep in the car. I am so happy that my little man had so much fun today and made a new little friend that is so close in age!! Seeing Jack having so much fun, being so happy, AND making friends is every mother's wish for her child. So, today was a great day! And best of all, Jack and I got to have dinner with his Daddy! Mmmm, grilled cheese and fries (for the second time today!!!) followed by ice cream. I am just not sure life can get much better for a 22 month old toddler!!!!

"Momma (point), Dada (point). I want fries!!!!"

Tonight, Jay, Granny, and I took the Little Man out to dinner while Granny came to visit us in Milwaukee. Thanks for coming to visit, Granny! We had fun.....and appreciate your opinion on scoping out the different areas. Anyhow, while we were at dinner, Jack made friends with a couple at a nearby booth in the restaurant. Befriending random couples in restaurants, stores, etc. is nothing strange to Jack. He usually likes to play peek-a-boo with them, but this time he decided to have a full blown conversation (to the best of his ability anyway!!) Out of the blue, he pointed to me (as if he was introducing me to them) and said "Momma." Then, he immediately pointed to Jay and introduced him as well......"Dada." Then, after the very quick introductions of us to his new friends, he was quick to let them know exactly what he wanted. "I want fries." Everyone was dying laughing because it was too cute!

Here are some recent pics of my fry loving little boy and I at Lawn Aqua Family Night that Jay, Jack, and I attended this past Sat., July 17th. I better make sure my little man lays off all of the fries of he is going to loose his cute, little baby physique!!!

This About Sums It Up

This picture just about sums up my little guy these days.

#1- As you can see, he is just cute as a button!

#2- He is such a playful little guy! He is really good about entertaining himself. And anything to do with planes, trains, and automobiles= one word......OBSESSED!

Thanks for sending us this super cute picture, Aunt Nance!

Happy 22 Months To My Little Man!

Before I had a baby, I always thought it was silly when you asked a mom how old their child is and they responded in months after the age of one, rather than just responding "one year." I now realize that babies just grow up so quickly and there are so many milestones each and every month. That is the reason why mothers answer with a specific month......the moral of the story is that I get it now. So don't worry, I am giving up celebrating the "month" birthday in two more short months when my little man turns 2. But for now, I will still proudly answer the infamous age question in months rather than the generic "one year." I far too much appreciate all of the wonderful things that have happened each month of Jack's life so far. This month for example, was the debut of his now very frequent saying "I want fries." You often hear this out of his mouth throughout the day.....morning, noon, or night! Shall we say, "like father, like son?!?!" This past month was also the transition from a crib to a "big boy bed." Jack did great and does not miss the crib a bit (either do I, for that matter!!!). He is now finally consistently sleeping through the night!! Let's see, what else? Oh, I now wake up every morning hearing "I want up" coming from the baby monitor. Lucky for me, I do not think Jack figured out that since he is in a "big boy bed" he actually can get in and out of bed whenever he wishes. I will keep that little fact a secret for as long as I can:) Plus, it gives me an excuse to run in there as soon as I hear him in the morning. He is ALL smiles in the morning and in such a darling mood....there just is not a better way to wake up!

The 15th of every month from here on out will forever be a special day in my eyes, even if I am only acknowledging it for 2 more months. I love my big 22 month old to pieces. As you can tell from the photo, Jack really does not care that he is 22 months old today. He is happy just being one! However, this momma is going to hang on the each precious month for as long as I can.....

To Be a Kid Again......

Whenever you are having a bad day, I think it is always important to remember this one thing....the pure innocence of a child. They see the world sometimes with different eyes and amaze me with the joy the find in the simplest of things. On Saturday when I took this picture, for example, Jack found so much joy in something as simple and pure as water. Ahhhh, to be a kid again......

Any Given Day.....

On just about any given day in the summer, you can find my little man and I at Lawn Aqua Pool. I am just so grateful for the place really. I mean, I am not sure what else we would do. It has been such a hot summer already so far......so, the pool has been a saving grace for us. We go literally every day, sometimes to just get out of the house. It is no doubt that this little guy is full of energy......and life is just better when there is a family friendly pool in our neighborhood for Jack to splash around the water to expend some of his energy. Now when I say, we are at the pool, we are not actually in the pool the entire time. Jack is just as happy playing in the house located in the baby pool area as he is the pool itself. He especially loves to have lots of little friends over to play when he is in there. After all, he is the mayor and mayor's are very welcoming people. Ha!

Please enjoy these photos of Jack at the pool (and in the play house) this afternoon. As you can tell, he surely did have a good time! Also, he got a much needed haircut after Splish Splash class this morning. Thanks Papa! He should have got a cut a few weeks ago, but he still wails when Mike the Barber is cutting his hair....so, I let it go a few weeks longer. There are some great head shots in the photos below so you can check out his new do.' I think his new haircut is super cute. I just love when he gets his hair cut. He is looks so clean cut and like such a little boy. I think he looks about 4 in the these pics......I wish I could freeze time so he would stop growing up so quickly......
