Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! This year, we spent the holiday weekend in St. Louis visiting the Heidemann's. As always, it was really nice to see everyone. Jack had so much fun with his grandparents, Aunt Nance, Uncle Rich, and cousins. I really enjoyed watching him interact with all of the other kids. Having non-stop playmates for 3 consecutive days was such an adventure and it was truly a hoot watching them all together. Jack spent much of the weekend playing "monkey see/monkey do." He was such a copycat of the older kids and was seriously just absorbing all they were doing and saying. Too bad they didn't live closer so we can have play dates more often:(

While we were in St. Louis, we also had the opportunity to visit some friends. Daddy, Jack, Kyle, and Collin took a tour of Busch Stadium. So, the Little Man got the visit the home of the Cards for the very first time. He especially enjoyed playing and throwing all of the dirt.....and of course spending quality time with his Dada! I am sure there are many more trips planned to the Stadium for the future! We also spent the evening of 4th of July with the Layton family. Jack saw the fireworks for the first time ever and thought they were VERY cool. He kept saying "WOW!" It was adorable how he was so enamored by them. He also had fun playing with his glow stick which in his opinion seemed to be almost as cool as the fireworks themselves!

I am also happy to report that Jack spent the long weekend sleeping on a "big boy" sleeping bag. Jay and I moved him from his crib to a "big boy bed" just before we left for STL so we decided to leave the pack and play behind and attempt the sleeping bag. He did SO WELL and I am really so proud of him. He slept through the night every night and went down fairly easily even though he had action packed days with very little "wind down" time at the end of the night. What a BIG BOY we have on our hands these days. What happened to my baby?!?!

Anyhow, Happy 4th of July! We hope you all had a weekend full of nice weather, good food, and wonderful friends and family!!!
