Christmas Traditions

For as long as I can remember, we have always picked a weekend to bake a bunch of Christmas cookies at my mom's house. When I say "a bunch," I mean SO MANY that my dad could not even eat them all! And for those of you who do not know, my dad is capable is eating many, many sweets before his sweet tooth is satisfied!

This year, we scheduled Dec. 5th as the day to make cookies at Grandma and Grandpa Harris's house. Well needless to say, baby Adeline had other plans on Dec. 5th this year! Her wonderful debut into this world definitely trumped cookie making!

So today, Jack and I spent the majority of the day baking cookies and pizzelles with my mom. Because Aunt Katie and Aunt Julie could not come, it definitely was a scaled down version of the typical Christmas cookie making extravaganza......but it was special nonetheless. We had a great time continuing this special tradition. This year, we made Christmas sugar cookies with icing, peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses in the middle, almond crescents, and as always Granny made her infamous pizzelles....yum yum!

Her are some pics of our cookie making day at Granny's house this year. We love this Christmas tradition (and we love you Granny!)! We are so happy that this fun day will remain a tradition...and we are already looking forward to next year when Jack and Adlee are in the kitchen together....oh dear!!!

Jack perfectly content on Grandpa's lap eating the sprinkle container.....he loved the sprinkles and certainly loves his Grandpa!
